Autobarn event showcases cars and thrills Newcastle
The Autobarn Parts People Show off your Ride returned to Newcastle show grounds with more exhibitors, competitions, and an energetic after party.
The Autobarn Parts People Show off your Ride was moved back to the Newcastle show grounds this year in order to accommodate a greater number of exhibitors and a bigger after party.
Organiser, Terence Chetty of Team Supersonic, said the Buddhafunk after party with DJ’s Jason 2Ray and Neal Rain was definitely the highlight of this year’s event.

Buddhafunk is described as an ‘east meets west’ dance fusion of Bollywood music with 80’s and 90’s English hits.
Chetty added that he was pleased with the turnout of spectators and competitors in both the car sound competition and the show-n-shine category.
According to Chetty, competitors from as far as Durban, Johannesburg, Pretoria and Bloemfontein travelled to Newcastle to participate on Saturday, August 2.
“We hosted the popular Bumper-to-Bumper Amazing Race again this year, where spectators were given clues to find check points and awarded prizes after finding all nine check points. Autobarn Parts People also introduced their own carnival games for the very first time,” Chetty said.
Avinash Singh won first place in this year’s show-n-shine, while Bradley Samuel from Durban scooped the first place in the car sound competition.
