Bowling club hosts Freedom Day competition
It was a busy and entertaining day out on the greens.
Newcastle Bowling Club members enjoyed a busy and entertaining Freedom Day with the hosting of an AME meat competition.
A pleasant morning was had by all, with members expressing appreciation for the generous sponsorship that made the event possible.
The winners of the meat prizes were Trevor Hutchinson, Gert Roos and Grant Teasdale. Edith Pretorius and Jaco Heunis were the lucky draw winners.
Full weekend of action planned
The club will once again be a hive of activity this weekend, with several events lined up for members and visitors.
A 2-4-2 competition will take place on Thursday evening (April 30), followed by an Eagle Peak Spur chicken competition on Friday morning. Club social bowls will round off the programme on Saturday afternoon, ending with a bring ‘n braai.
Visitors are welcome to attend and experience first-hand the appeal of bowls and the enjoyment it offers players of all ages.
