Fun and excitement galore was the order of the day at the Weenen Wildsfees which was held in Weenen on Saturday.
Boere sport including sack races, bokdrol spoeg and tug-of-war were all packed into a fun-filled afternoon. Also, one of the draw cards was a performance by teen pop sensation MWAH, who included 7de Laan  star Lorista Bubb in their line-up. They had show-goers’ feet stomping!
Whip skill demonstrations had the crowd “Ooh”-ing and “Aah”-ing…
Then it was the turn of the Klein Mej Wildsfees and Mej Wildsfees, and Mnr Bene competitions. The winners were chosen by out-of town judges and even though the competition was serious among the girls, a spirit of fun was maintained.
With stalls, rides and jumping castles to cater for everyone, the day was clearly fun-packed.

Come early evening and it was the turn of the gravelly voice of Theuns Jordaan, who could be heard belting out hits such as ‘Beautiful in Beaufort Wes’ much to the delight of his fans.

A true farmer’s ‘fees’, with people coming from far and wide to support this church-run event.
