Racers brave the cold at Oval Track
During the race, Corrie van den Bergh lost control of his vehicle and the car did a double flip roll.
Roaring engines filled the night sky as avid racing fans enjoyed an exciting evening at the Oval Track on Saturday.
In the Rookie division, Tiaan Buys sped into first place, claiming victory over his opponents.
In the 1600 category, JP Bruin took first place and was followed by Johann de Jager in second place and Anthony van der Merwe in third position.
The 1660 division saw tough competition between the racers, but it was Pieter Bester who took first place, with André Grevenstein in second position and Imraan Ameer following in third place.
Francois Greyvenstein took the win in the two-litre category, with Pieter Bester in second place and Mohammed Khan taking third position.
The Tin Tops division saw Riekie Snyman clinching the win, with Boet Buys in second and Deon van der Merwe in third place.
The highlight of the evening was the Hot Rod division.
During the race, Corrie van den Bergh lost control of his vehicle and the car did a double flip roll.
Thanks to many safety features in the car, Corrie escaped unscathed.
The race continued with Fred van Dyk claiming the win, Roux van der Colff taking second place and Charles Clark speeding into third spot.
The next racing event is set for July 26 at 6pm.
