Bethlehem bowlers wipe the board

Everyone was ‘pipped’ by the excellent bowling of the Bethlehem sides

As advised last week, here are the results from the Tops at Spar Business League: Section 1: 1. Marmag; 2. Sasko; 3. Leisure Brands. Section 2: 1. RFH Electronics; 2. Neal’s Tyres; 3. Sarel’s Workshop. CW&T won ‘Best Dressed’, and BP Harrismith Road enjoyed their games the most. Now it’s the ‘Grand Challenge’ to see who will walk away with the trophy as the winning team – watch this space!

The Centenary Prince Arthur Tournament in Harrismith over the weekend did not go so well for our men as it did for the open teams last week. Everyone was ‘pipped’ by the excellent bowling of the Bethlehem sides, who wiped the board with first, second and third place. A most enjoyable weekend was had by all, with new friends being made and old ones re-met.

Mr Charles Levy of Bowls South Africa, Mr Dougie Slabbert of KZNCB and Mr Eric Robinson of Midlands all added to the prestigious proceedings with their contribution of speeches highlighting the centenary and the achievements of the club. Harrismith is to be commended on their commitment to bowls over 100 years.

Congratulations to Nico van Emmenis and his committee on an excellent weekend!
