New year could bring upsets
Officials are hard at work laying the blue print for the new season that will see the return of Breakwaters, Stillwaters and other new affiliates for the season 2015/2016.

After the festive season break, it will be back to the water’s edge for members of the Angling Professional League (APL) with the hosting of the Vees Micro Enterprises League 3 at Sandford on 18 January.
Paper House and Team Streetwire with 14 points each, dominate the tussle for the league title. Both Fishing People and NFH Superstars could upset the apple cart, as a win by either team could throw the league competition wide open.
With many competitions to follow, the early title contenders include Yacoob Patel (heaviest scaled fish – 3,020kg); Faizel Seedat (heaviest non scaled fish – 3,690kg); Shakeel Sheik (heaviest scaly of 650 grams); Vicky Bhooli (highest points scorer – 25 points); Shane Mangaroo (crowned Champion of Champion); Harry Singh (Knock-Out Champion on 16 points, followed by Naesh Rajkumar and Ossie Oosthuizen on 12 points each); Vicky Bhooli (League Champion on 27 points, followed by Kaveer Singh on 21 and Ossie Oosthuizen on 19 points); Avi Buduram (Junior Angler of Year on 2 points); Whity Maharaj (Senior Angler of the Year on 20 points followed by Dan Govender on 15 points) while Vicky Bhooli leads the pack with the most fish caught with 24 fish, followed by Ossie Oosthuizen and Kaveer Singh on 16 each.
Competition for the internal singles and doubles title is reaching the business end of the competition as there are several contenders for the title.
