Swimmers make a splash

The KZN Cycling Time Trials and Road Cycle race took place in Ladysmith this past weekend. Reece and Micaela Sclanders achieved Bronze medals in their respective age groups in the Time Trials, whilst their mother Merilyn won a gold medal in her age category. Merilyn won a silver medal in her age category in the road race.

At the KZN Triathlon Championships held at Midmar Dam on Sunday, January 18, Reece Sclanders came second in his age category and his sister, Micaela won her age category. Winterton swimmers also took part in the 1 500m swim which part of the swim leg of the Olympic distance Triathlon. Those that were took part were Kate Wood, Ross Mcbey, Abigail Heinecken, Fia de Bruyn and Cara and Tayla Ralfe (all Winterton Primary). Emma and Abigail West, Belinda Wood (all Epworth), Robyn Mcbey (Treverton) and Sheldon Spence (Drakensberg Boys’ Choir School) and well as adults, Sally Ralfe, Alison Mcbey, Gary Wood, Eric Heinecken, Belinda Spence and Ann Gray all participated.
