Bowlers clinch silver at SA National Championships

Great tournament - well done ladies.

The Dundee ladies team, represented by Nan Roos, Sylvia Malan, Noela Dreyer and Essel Schoeman, had a very successful week at the SA National Bowls Championships in Pretoria, winning silver in the fours competition.
They were beaten 20-16 in the final by Protea player, Nici Neal’s, team. They conquered some top teams along the way. Sylvia and Essel won their section in the pairs only to be beaten by Elma Davis and Arlene Bosse from George who won the gold. Nan won her section in the singles and was beaten in the play-off by Bronwyn Webber who took home bronze. Great tournament – well done ladies.
Exciting end to Shawe Beef Masters Business League
Only three points separated the first four positions. First prize went to Martinique’s Gaucabowly team on 20 points.
Second Dudley’s MOTHS on 19 points, while newcomers, Camilla’s Mbube team, finished third with 18 points. Jacques’ Sharks were fourth on 17 points. The coveted Baby Stone was won by Terry’s CPC team and the Big Stone by Hesmarie’s The Shed 2 team.The next Bowls Business League will start again in spring.
