Auf wiedersehen Ian Freeman
Ian, thank you again for the memories that you leave with us and until then 'auf wiedersehen' (until we meet again)
It was an emotional evening when members, friends and visitors said farewell to Ian Freeman who relocated to Howick.
Ian joined the club as a squash player and later as a full golfing member. He was Captain and Chairman of the club for four years and President for two years.
He stayed on as committee member until recently. In difficult times Ian always kept a cool head and made sure that the ship stayed afloat.
Tributes came from far and wide and it was fittingly that honourary life membership was bestowed upon him.The golf was won by Rajen Goodoon, Roy Ramkasoon, Naveen Rajcoomar and Phillip Boshoff on 97.
Followed by Trevor Livesey, Ajeesh Lalparsad, Richard Naidoo and Moekie Ghasitha on 89 on c/o from Dave Diedrick, Harry Koovarjee and Gail and Arnold Boettiger.
Closest pin was Dave Diedrick, two clubs by Peter Wood, Dave Diedrick, Ajeesh and Deejay. We also welcomed Ken Freeman, Garth Charlton, Rob van Heerden and many more.
Thank you to Viren for the decor, new flags and poles sponsored by Ledly Hume and the members who contributed towards the evening.
