Freedom Day, April 27, saw the bowls club hosting a fun day. Fourteen players came down and enjoyed a wonderful day on the bowling greens. The format of play was blind draws and accumulative points. The eventual winners were as follows: Greg Conolly 36pts, Dougie Slabbert 33pts, Leslie Millar 32pts and Angus Millar 30pts.
On Monday, May 1, the annual Theo Gehren Memorial tournament took place and fourteen teams participated. A huge thank you to those teams that travelled through from Newcastle, Vryheid and Mahawane. Great fun was had by all. Our sincere condolences go out to the Gehren family on the news that Dennis Gehren had passed away on the Saturday. Your continued support of this tournament is, and will always be, greatly appreciated.

The final results were as follows: First: Samantha Shaw, Michelle Steele, Denver Shaw and Lindsay McArthur; second: Des Johnson, Lourens Roos, Nan Roos and Sid Price and third: Monty Steele, Aspen Shaw, Stephen Shaw and Douglas Steele.
Round Tablers Winter Warmth bowls challenge
The Round Table Winter Warmth bowls challenge started last Thursday. Twelves teams will brave the cold conditions through the month of May in support of this worthy cause. Team RABCO lead on four points from the Knight Riders and the four Amigos. All are welcome to come down and support this cause and if you wish, donate a blanket or a tin food. There will be wors rolls on sale this Thursday so don’t bring any food, come support the Winter Knights of the Round Table.
