Physical fitness day for Uthukela Cluster police

The assessment is conducted yearly and during the event this year, awareness was also done on the benefits of exercise and those attending were exposed to various sporting codes

Physical fitness has always been an important aspect in the life of a police officer. Fitness assessments are held annually and a couple of hours a week are allocated for the purposes of participating in official sports codes.

On August 30, the Uthukela Cluster police held a Physical Fitness Assessment Day at the Indoor Sports Complex in Ladysmith.

The assessment is conducted yearly and during the event this year, awareness was also done on the benefits of exercise and those attending were exposed to various sporting codes.

The sporting codes included the more high intensive training of a boot camp, through to other more conventional sports such as a 2.4km walk/run, tug-of-war, volleyball, and soccer as well as the less known sport of yoga.

The event was aimed at showing those present that no matter at what fitness level you are at; there is always something you can participate in to stay fit and healthy.

The event was attended by police staff from across the Uthukela Cluster.
