Good weather, good food and great bowls during tournament

The Business League started on Wednesday and we look forward to seeing all the old familiar faces back on the greens

What a wonderful tournament we had on Sunday! Good weather, good food and great bowls – what more can you ask for? This all happened during the annual Hyper Packaging Tournament and we would like to thank the sponsor for providing prizes right down to the team coming eighth overall.

Well done to the winners – Aspen, Samantha and Stephen Shaw (a mean family team) – all the way from Newcastle.

In second place were Kees Hillenaar, Clyde Newton and Price Tarr, keeping Klipbank’s flag flying.

In third place was another team from Newcastle, namely Alice and Ron Howe, ably assisted by Anil Dungadin. Thank you once more to all the players who supported us.

The Business League started yesterday (October 4) and we look forward to seeing all the old familiar faces back on the greens. This weekend, the annual President’s Cup will be hosted by the club, where all the District sides will be competing against each other. So, if you love bowls, do come down to the club to watch.

On Sunday, the final District sides will be announced, as well as the names of players invited to take part in the Prelim Masters and Masters tournaments hosted by the District.

Members are reminded that subs are due and payable prior to the AGM scheduled for October 19, to enable you to cast your vote.

Members are also reminded that the annual affiliation of R350 is now also due and has to be paid by the end of November.

“Love life, love bowls and support your club!”
