Brothers United pick up their first win of the season
Joey took 3 wickets and Aezaaz took 2 wickets as Tigers won by 6 runs.
It was another action-packed week in the Umzinyathi Cricket Associations Leagues, as teams traded wins and only Paki Lions managed to win both their encounters.
T20 Night League: Farmers vs Molls
Farmers won the toss and elected to bat first. Thanks to 54 from Kyle and 31 from Chris, they scored 178/8 from their allotted overs.
Peter was the only bowler for Molls who made an impact, taking 3/30.
Molls also lost 8 wickets during their chase but fell short of the total. Jan Frederick scored 31 not out and Henry made 26 as they could only muster 141. Tyron took 2/20 as Farmers won by 37 runs.
Paki Lions vs Brothers United
Paki Lion batted first and could only manage to score 120 before they were bowled out. Ali top scored with 35 while Rikesh took 4/28 and Ashley took 2/27 for Brothers.
Despite having to chase a small total, Brothers United fell just short, scoring 117 for 5 in their 20 overs.
Rikesh top scored with 25 while Dean took 2/27 as Paki Lions won by 3 runs.
Saturday 30 Over League: Brothers United vs NDH Predators
Brothers United batted first and amassed a huge 230 for 5 in their 30 overs.
Rishi was in destructive form with the bat, scoring 132 not out while Rikesh also impressed, making 64. Brenton took 2/46 for Predators. In reply they were bowled out for only 119 as Ryan top scored with 60 and Shaimal chipped in with 25. Ashley took 4/28 as Brothers United picked up their first win of the season by 111 runs.
Molls vs Tigers
Tigers batterd first and made 180 all out thanks to 64 from O’Niel and 24 from Keagan. Daniel and Armand both took 3 wickets apiece for Molls. In reply Molls fell just short, scoring 174. Willem top scored with 53 and Wilfred made 45. Joey took 3 wickets and Aezaaz took 2 wickets as Tigers won by 6 runs.
Ace Eagles vs Farmers
Ace Eagles batted first and made 221 for the loss of 7 wickets. Ahmed top scored with a beautifully crafted 102 while Saif chipped in with 52. Tyron took 3 wickets while Woesie took 2. Farmers, however, were bowled out for only 153 during their run chase, with Chris top scoring with 46 and Peter making 42. Saif and Abdullah took 2 wickets each as Ace won by 68 runs.
Sunday 50 Over League: Ace Eagles vs Paki Lions
Ace Eagles batted first and made 188 thanks to 55 from Saif and 54 from Iqbal. Kamran, Saqib and Dean all took 2 wickets each for Paki Lions.
During the chase, Paki Lions were in early trouble, as Ashraf took 5 wickets for Ace. Adeel came to Paki Lions’ rescue as he scored his second consecutive 50 in the 50 overs format, leading them to a 5 wicket victory.
