Golf course staff – easy winners of the Monthly Mug
A field of 30 golfers came out to enjoy the warm summers day on the golf course.

Saturday’s Monthly Mug Medal competition at Dundee C.C. attracted a reasonable field of 30 golfers to enjoy the warm summers day out on the golf course.
The Men’s A division was won by the golfer with the best local course knowledge, the greenkeeper, Jo Khumalo who shot a three-over-par 74 to also win the prize for Best Gross score on the day.
John Zulu, a golf course employee, also proved his local knowledge when easily winning the Men’s B division on a net score of 64, five shots clear of second-placed Dan Scholtz.
The Ladies B division mug went to Debbie Catlett after finishing with a net score of 70, while Hlengiwe Hlongwane was the winner of the Ladies C division Mug.
There were only three players who managed to record a 2 Club on the day and they were, Kallie Roets and John Zulu at the 4th and Sifiso Kunene on the 12th hole.
Friday’s 11 hole meat competition saw eight players competing for a chance of winning a meat hamper kindly sponsored by Richard Catlett, and it was Pierre Booysen with 27 individual points who came out tops ahead of his father Henk who scored 26 points.
An important notice to all Dundee C.C. golf members that the Special General Meeting originally scheduled for March 5 will now take place on Wednesday, March 14 at 6pm, and all golfers are requested to attend.
This coming weekend’s fixtures: Friday 11 hole Meat Competition and Saturdays Club competition will be a 4 BBBS event.
