Sifiso takes top honours in Oriental Golf Day
On Sunday Dunpro Sports Club held their annual Oriental Golf Day, sponsored by Charlies SuperSpar, which attracted a full field of just over a 100 players which saw three Dundee C.C. players finishing in the top five positions.
There were only 23 golfers who braved the overcast and cool weather conditions, with imminent rain around the golf course, to compete in Saturdays Club competition at Dundee Country Club.
Winning the multiplication stableford competition was the pairing of Marc Bradbury and Billy Francis with 68 points, followed by Sifiso Kunene and his partner Lala Govender on 67 points to finish in second position.
There were several players who managed to record a 2 Club in the competition, and they were; Billy Francis and Lionel Shawe at the 4th, Clement Sithole on both the 4th and the 12th, while Barry Sandy recorded his 2 Club on the 16th hole.

Sifiso Kunene scored 40 individual points to claim first prize (on a count out) and take home a large chest freezer, while Kevin Donaldson finished third on 39 points to win a Cobra golf bag and Rob Streak, 37 points, who also won a chest freezer. E Mchunu was second also on 40 pints.
Golfers are reminded that the annual Battlefields Tournament is just over a week away, and entry forms for this tournament are available from The Pro Shop.
DunPro members presented a donation to Dundee Secondary School to go towards textbooks and will this week present R3000 to the ABH, Glencoe. Charlies SuperSpar, the main sponsors, donated a huge birthday cake to players to mark their 50th anniversary and Simunye Maize Meal representatives were on hand to distribute maize to players.

All Dundee C.C. golf members are requested to attend the Special General Meeting which will now take place on Monday, March 26 at 6pm.
