Women dominate humid NG Kerk Golf Day
The winners, on a very good 53 points, were Hlengiwe Hlongwane and Thea Krüger.
The Dundee Golf Club thanks the NG Kerk-Suid members for organising and hosting its annual golf day at the club, on a very hot Saturday. It also thanks the sponsors and those who provided meals after the game.
The winners were as follows: first on a very good 53 points – Hlengiwe Hlongwane and Thea Krüger, second on 50 points – Kallie Roets and Wessel Odendaal, counted out from Gene Robson and Churchill Maphanga. In fourth – S Mkhaliphi and Jo Khumalo on 49 points, fifth – Mason Meyer and Bruce Meyer on 48 points, counted out from Kevin Donaldson and Abrie Pretorius.
Novelty prizes were awarded as follows:
Longest drive (men): J Khumalo on Hole 17; longest drive (women): Debbie Catlett on Hole 2.
Nearest the pin: Bruce Meyer – Hole 18; Billy Francis – Hole 4; Hlengiwe Hlongwane – Hole 8; Aaron Mbatha – Hole 12; R Seate – Hole 16.
Dave’s Competition, played on October 16 in the form of an IPS over 11 holes, was won by Jo Khumalo on 23 points, counted out from Lorein de Wit. Third place went to Dan Scholtz.
This Wednesday (October 23), the club will host Dave’s Competition over 11 holes in the form of an IPS. On Friday (October 25), a chicken run will be hosted by the club in the form of an IPS.
Then on Saturday (October 26), a club competition will be played over 18 holes in the form of an IPS – players are urged to support this competition.
