Treverton’s Matthew Smith selected for U13 district team

In a U13 cricket match against Laddsworth both Michael and Matthew showed their skill with the bat despite the inclement windy day, by making 41 and 26 respectively

Grade six Matthew Smith at Treverton Prep was selected for the U13 Northern Districts Cricket team after attending the trials held at Nottingham Road’s Clifton College.
For the first round of the selection Matthew was accompanied by classmate Michael Morris and two of the school’s U13 players Jonathan Taylor and Sebastian Wilton. Although all four boys are members of talented Treverton teams, competition was tough at the trials.
This was the second sporting triumph for Matthew this term as he was the junior Victor Ludorum at the school’s Inter-House Gala and broke three of the five individual records; the 4 x 25 Individual Medley, 50 x m Backstroke and 25-x m Butterfly.
In a U13 cricket match against Laddsworth both Michael and Matthew showed their skill with the bat despite the inclement windy day, by making 41 and 26 respectively. Treverton unfortunately struggled with the bowling in the severe wind and lost the match.
