First primary school tournament is a success

Approximately 160 learners participated in this tournament

On Saturday, May 23, Umtshezi Volleyball Association held its first Primary School Tournament of the year. The association plans to have two more tournaments during the course of the year. The following categories entered for both boys and girls teams: Under 12 Boys and Girls and Over 12 Boys and Girls.

Zola Primary School, Forderville Primary School, Cornfields Primary School, Emahhashini Primary School and ML Sultan Estcourt Primary School competed against one another.

Approximately 160 learners participated in this tournament. Umtshezi Volleyball Association would like to thank: Mr Surendra Naidoo – Tournament Sponsor, Mr A.B. Sookraj for the use of the venue and facilities, Mr Themba Shabalala Development Officer Department of Sports and Recreation for medals, Mr Ritesh Ramdutt and Mr Ricky Ramthol for the sponsorship of fruit and all UVA Officials that assisted on the day.

Tournament number two will be held on August 22.
