Busy week for Sarel Cilliers High athletes

On Thursday and Friday last week Sarel Cilliers held its annual house athletics meeting. The houses of Maree and Cilliers arrived in high spirits and the grade 8s were very relieved that their orientation was over. The day was marked by friendly competition, a bit of teasing, lots of cheering, singing and great fun.

Thank you to Mr Van Der Westhuizen for all the arrangements and all the teachers for their hard work. The athletes had no time to rest on their laurels though. On Saturday they had to compete in the Endumeni Trials at Dundee High School. It was very hot, but the team delivered good results. Mbuso Mncube really stood out with his 1.875m height in high jump. Roughly 25 of them were selected for the Umzinyathi team, pending final results to be released. Once again they have made Mrs Heroux proud with their excellent behaviour, kindness, determination and courage.
