DHS athletes storming up the track
The highlight of the morning was, of course, the 100m races for all the age groups.
Athletes from the Sharks and Dolphins houses competed against each other in a number of events, including both track and field. The highlight of the morning was, of course, the 100m races for all the age groups. Some tight heats were seen and some brilliant times ran. Some stand-out performances were those of Asanda Thungo (100m and 200m sprint winner) and Jan-Frederik van Zyl and Siphesihle Sikhakhane, who were involved in a tight battle over the 100 and 200-metre sprints. The times that were posted were very close to ASA qualifying times. Jan-Frederik also came close to beating the school’s 400 m track record.
Dundee High School really wants to thank all of the learners who participated at the Interhouse and for all the time and effort that coaches will be putting in over the next few weeks, with an eye on the upcoming Endumeni and Umzinyathi athletics meets.
