The biggest Sarel Cilliers Rugby Festival ever kicked off yesterday at the Glencoe school with around 66 school teams from four provinces participating.
This is the 46th Sarel Rugby Day and tribute has been paid to the late Springbok , Darius Botha, who died on Monday after a brave fight against cancer. Darius who was 62 attended 25 Sarel Rugby Days where he was a selector, He and brother, Naas, played together in 1981 for the Boks against the All Blacks in New Zealand.
Today, Saturday, is day 2 of the action with both Dundee High and Sarel playing (not against each other) this afternoon. Last night, an Old Boys team from Sarel beat a Sentraal team while the game Sarel under 14 B team lost to Toti 68/15 while the under 15s beat Newcastle 43/7.
