Learners participate in fun day
It was clear that the day would be one filled, not only with fun, but heated competition as well
The Islamic Educational Centre held its annual inter-house athletics event at Settlers Park on Sunday, (4 March).
The morning started off with a parade of the houses, led by the 2017 winning house, Darus Zahab, followed by Darus Safeer and Darus Zumurud.
It was clear that the day would be one filled, not only with fun, but friendly competition as well. Learners in all grades participated to earn points for their respective houses.
Like a magnet, many parents were drawn to the finish line to cheer and congratulate their children.
Events included 50m, 75 m, 100m and fun events such as the three legged race and sack race. A well stocked stall kept everyone energized. It was such a day of fun and memories that children and parents are eagerly looking forward to next year’s event.
The success of the day can be attributed to the organisational skills of Sports Master Moulana S. Sayed, Sports Mistress Muallimah A.B. Rassool and their dedicated teams.
