Estcourt’s wheelchair bastketball team in top form

KwaZamokuhle Special School congratulates the school’s wheelchair basketball team.

This year the team welcomed new players namely Thando Mchunu, Mfundo Kubheka, Philasande Ngcobo and Sindisiwe Nkosi. The team played very well in PCCL games.

The first pool of games was held at the Tongaat Indoor Sport Centre where the team played very well; losing only one game against the KZN Marlins by 28 – 34 points. Congratulations to Lwazi Mchunu who scored 20 points out of 28.

He is doing very well this year. Currently the team is number three on the log, trailing behind Open Air School and KZN Marlins.

The team thanks the school driver Mr PM Duma who is always available to transport the team to Durban during the weekends; he really cares about disabled people and is always available to assist where it is possible.

Congratulations to the new team management namely Mr BN Nxele – General Manager, Mrs BR Malinga – Team Manager, Mr CS Nyathi – Coach, Miss FS Mazibuko – Assistant Coach, Nkosingiphile Makhathini (grade five) – Kit Manager and Mr MJ Sithole – Table Official.

Appreciation goes to Acting Principal Ms NB Mabele and the KZN Wheelchair Basketball Convener Mr QP Dlamini who are always empowering physical disabled children through education and sport to lead, guide and inspire their able-bodied peers.
