After 114 years of weekly printed distribution we are excited to finally launch our new Northern KZN Courier website. The site is locally based and locally operated ensuring that the latest local news is uploaded as it happens.
A fuller version of events will be covered in the printed version as before. The website enables us to improve the Courier experience for the reader.
Photographs of school and community happenings will be uploaded on the photo galleries on this site which means if your photo was not published you stand a good chance of seeing it on the website!
There is also a place for your much valued comments on various local issues that shape our town and lives. With the times we are living in and the fast paced environment, the Courier website will assist readers to understand and become involved in these events and in that way, hopefully, assist in improving our town – an ideal we all surely strive for.
This will by no means replace the printed version of the Courier which will continue to cover the news as before.
The site includes a ‘ticker tape’ of national and international events, local weather and a video of the day. We welcome your suggestions – and your photos and videos!

The area has seen much trauma – from the battles of the 20th and 19th centuries – to the economic decline of the 1980s – a flitter of encouragement in the early 21 st century but now again we are facing challenges.
Challenges of political uncertainty, economic challenges and numerous others which small towns have to come to grips with. Join us on a journey of understanding, discovery and information.
