Michaelis is very productive
ON Friday, October 18, Michaelis held its annual October Dance. An atmosphere of love and togetherness filled the air as guests’ spirits were high. Waiters and barman looked smashing in their traditional German outfits, the Dirndl and Lederhosen and the evening was opened with a welcoming Rose Parade. Guests enjoyed the evening dancing away to the sounds of the Speedy Kobak and savouring delicious German foods. Those of you who didn’t make it to this year’s October Dance, be sure to book a table next year, this is an event not to be missed!
GRADE 7 FAREWELL:
The beautifully decorated Hawaiian like beach, cocktails and refreshing salads were the order of the day for this year’s Grade 7 Farewell. The grade 6 class eagerly prepared the hall and the food for Thursday evening’s function.
The Grade 7 class braved the cold, night air and arrived at the hall on the back of a classic, old bakkie. With the Grade 6’s leading them in games and activities, the hustle and bustle of the evening continued until the formalities drew near.
These were over quickly and the children tucked into the delicious salads that the beach party theme brought with it.
Dancing and enjoyment was the most important part of the evening and when the parents arrived to fetch their children, nobody wanted to leave! Alas, another year of grade 7’s will be leaving our school soon. You will be sorely missed and we wish you all the best for the future!
MUSIC MATINEE:
A Music Matinee is an annual event at Michaelis and it gives the learners who take private music lessons a chance to show off their skills. This event was held on Friday, and the audience was privileged enough to hear beautiful pieces played on instruments from the piano to the violin. It was wonderful to see children so passionate about music.
CRICKET:
We would like to congratulate Cameron Spangenberg who has made the KZN Inland U12 Cricket Team. He will be playing in an interprovincial tournament from the 6th to the 9th of December in Pretoria and we wish him the best of luck.
At Caxton, we employ humans to generate daily fresh news, not AI intervention. Happy reading!
