St Oswald’s Secondary School hosted a Spelling Bee for Grade 8 pupils on May 19.

Five pupils from Lincoln Heights Secondary School competed against five pupils from St Oswalds.

Pupils flaunted their remarkable spelling and memory skills during a gruelling one-hour session.

Coordinator of the competition, Mrs R Singh thanked the pupils from both schools for participating the in competition.

Congratulations to the 2015 Spelling Bee winner, Sha-lee-sha Mansen of St Oswald’s. She proved dynamite really does come in small packages!

The school hopes to make the Spelling Bee an annual event, with the hope of improving spelling and the comprehension of the English language.
