Resident weighs in massive pumpkin crop

What a whopper!

What an absolute whopper!

Sporting a pair of green thumbs, Phil Botha and gardener, Jim Buthelezi recently reared two massive pumpkins at the Botha family home.

The pumpkin seeds were planted in November.

Uncertain of the ‘correct’ processes to follow, Phil and Jim did things their way, cultivating two pumpkins weighing a few kilogrammes each.

Sadly, these monsters have since begun to rot.

Wife, Karin Botha described her husband as a keen gardener and a naturally creative sort, a good cook who even ferments his own wine.

“We like things organic – we grow our own herbs and veggies in the back yard, and keep chickens,” she enthused.
