Smart VIC: Milestone development for tourism in Parys and the FS
The Smart VIC will contribute towards accessible, technology-driven information and services.
Parys Info & Tourism will, in the near future, be one of the leading tourism information centres in the country, offering the experience of Smart Visitor Information.
As an interactive marketing centre, it will offer real-time information on the diverse tourism, culture and heritage offerings that span across all nine South African provinces, once the electronic devices for the interactive experience have been received.
September 30 marked the launch of the Smart Visitor Information Centre (VIC) at Parys Info & Tourism, as an important milestone in advancing tourism innovation in the Free State, and visitor experience through accessible, technology-driven information and services.

Attended by Mr Abram Mgcina, Acting Municipal Manager of the Fezile Dabi District Municipality, and Ms Mbali Letebele (Director Local Economic Development, Tourism & Infrastructure), the ceremonial ribbon cutting ceremony was described as a new chapter for smarter, more connected tourism in the Free State.
With Parys being known for more than a century as a popular tourism destination, this will add to the comprehensive service and role Parys Info & Tourism plays in the marketing of this Free State jewel along the Vaal River, with its diverse tourism activities and attractions.
