Please take note that windy conditions still creates a high fire hazard, as indicated on the graphic below.

Note that the colour yellow means dangerous, orange is very dangerous and red extremely dangerous, meaning that the fire hazard warning is very high for Friday and Saturday especially.

Please be cautious when making fires as open fires is not advisible now.

During last week’s fire alongside the Parys/Vredefort road the wind speed was measured at 20km/h giving you an indication of the high fire hazard we are facing for the coming weekend.

Also remember that it is highly advisible when attending to a fire to wear protective clothing and have a radio with you for your own safety.
