Unhappiness about service delivery flares up again as Fikile Mbalula is to address community members

On Youth Day 16 June, ANC shirts, flags and other ANC-branded items were also burnt in Tumahole, causing widespread media reaction.

ANC Secretary General, Fikile Mbalula, has arrived shortly after 15:00 on Tuesday 27 June in Tumahole, Parys, to address party structures and the local community of Tumahole at the Master Nakedi Sports Center.

Community members have been gathering since earlier this afternoon awaiting his arrival. Some members of the community indicated that ANC shirts and a coffin will once again be burned near the venue where Mbalulu would be addressing the community.

The multi-stakeholder meeting was to address issues affecting the community, including “but not limited to socio-economic development and service delivery”, was said.

On Youth Day 16 June, ANC shirts, flags and other ANC-branded items were also burnt in Tumahole, causing widespread media reaction.

The community then, said they had nothing to celebrate on Youth Day, claiming the action to be  symbolic, to voice their unhappiness with the government’s failure to deliver municipal services to them. It was then denied  to be in support of former ANC leader Ace Magashule’s recent expulsion from the party.
