Ngwathe meets with delegates of Save Ngwathe
The meeting was described by both parties as very positive.
The newly appointed municipal manager (MM) of the Ngwathe Local municipality Dr Futhuli Mothamaha has extended his cooperative hand to progressive stakeholders when he met with a delegation of Save Ngwathe, at the Parys municipality offices on Tuesday. The meeting was part of stakeholders engagement since Dr Mothamaha took office as the acting Municipal Manager at the beginning of May this year.
Save Ngwathe’s delegation congratulated him on his appointment as the Municipal Manager and emphasized that this meeting is part of efforts to strengthen relations with the municipality while raising concerns over outstanding matters such as the water pipeline, customer care system, cable theft, the municipal Eskom account and the fire and rescue service.
The Save Ngwathe delegation emphasized that since the arrival of Dr Mothamaha, there are visible developments in terms of service delivery rapid response, and further appreciated the municipal fight against illegal connections. The organisation supported measures in place to combat such crimes.
The Municipal Manager Dr Mothamaha emphasized a need for stakeholders to be part of spreading the message on the importance of paying municipal accounts to assist the municipality in meeting its broader service delivery obligations.
Delegates agreed respectively that there will be follow up engagements with the intention to share ideas.
The MM further explained that the municipality is in the process of filling key vacancies such as the positions of Director Technical Services to ensure proper management of technical infrastructure, and the position of Director Local Economic Development and Planning to ensure better implementation of strategic management objectives while prioritizing service delivery.
