Hospital and Mica staff commended for making a difference for patients
This initiative really made a difference for the community of Parys.
The caring spirit of the staff at Parys District Hospital was evident over the weekend when they rolled up their sleeves and painted the walls and ceilings of the hospital’s Casualty department.
Staff members explained that they wanted to make Casualty neat and welcoming again for patients, and approached Mica Parys for assistance with paint. The staff’s enthusiasm was so contagious that Mica Parys not only provided the necessary materials, but also came after work to lend a hand with the painting themselves. And what a difference this combined effort has made!
The project was coordinated by Desmond Radebe, Health and Safety Officer at Parys District Hospital, and Mitchell Gilliland.
While Casualty was being painted over the weekend, arrangements were made to ensure that emergency patients could still be assisted in another section of the hospital.
Despite the often challenging conditions under which hospital staff have to work, this exceptional gesture of care truly deserves recognition from the community.
