A 36-year-old woman in Sonderwater was arrested in connection with her 42-year-old boyfriend’s murder in the early hours of Saturday morning.
According to Sgt Kelebogile Trom, the Ikageng police spokesperson, the police received the complaint of an assault GBH (grievous bodily harm) at about 02:15.
By the time they had arrived at the scene, the paramedics had already certified the male victim dead.
‘The police found the neighbours in the yard.
A woman introduced herself as the victim’s girlfriend and the person who had stabbed the victim. She then took the police to where the victim was lying on the bed. The deceased was transported to the mortuary and the victim was arrested,’ reported Trom.
Three men have already died at the hands of women after arguments in the past few months.
In June, an 18-year-old girl in Ext. 11 stabbed a 28-year-old man, Tshepo Thapo to death following an argument earlier that night.
In March, a domestic dispute between lovers in Ikageng in the early hours of Saturday morning also left the boyfriend dead.
The woman later handed herself over to the police.
According to Trom, the 33-year-old woman told the police she had stabbed her 36-year-old partner unintentionally during an altercation.
