The JB Marks municipality has released a statement in which they explain the current power outage in Ventersdorp.

The JB Marks municipality has released a statement in which they explain the current power outage in Ventersdorp.

According to William Maphosa, municipal spokesperson, the power failure started early yesterday (24 April) morning.

“Eskom’s poles and conductors on their 88KV power lines that supply Ventersdorp have broken. The break and outage is as a result of heavy rains currently being experienced. Eskom has assured the Municipality that its technicians are on site attending to the matter. The report from the field is that the area is too wet and muddy. Vehicles were getting trapped on the mud,” said Maphosa.

According to him residents are requested to be a little patient as everything possible is being done to address the matter as urgently as is possible.

Parts of Coligny and Lichtenburg are also affected by this unfortunate situation.
