GALLERY: Fashion to help women build confidence
BORDEAUX – Styling women from dull to fabulous.
Ordinary women were advised on how to build up their confidence and find new ways of presenting themselves at the Annual Ladies Day held at Old Parktonian Sports Club in Randburg on 29 August.
“The reason we are here today, we want to show you how to style your way from drab to fab,” said independent stylist Marinda Aukamp.
The smartly dressed Aukamp also discussed women’s body shapes, wardrobe and how to use colour to their advantage.
Part of the event was a workshop with an interactive talk about newly launched clothing and jewellery ranges.
In the room, there were also clothing and jewellery ranges by Jubilant in Burgundy and Barefoot in Burgundy.
Fashion designer Christie van Rooyen and six clothing models displayed the designs.
Aukamp said looking good in well-fitting clothes gives a woman much needed confidence.
“Once you have confidence as a woman, you are able to face the world and be productive in the workplace, gatherings or your own home,” said Aukamp.
Designer Van Rooyen said she takes time to study a woman’s shape to make sure she gives her the best look.
“It is our job as designers to help fellow women dress up smart, be presentable in good looking attires – whether western or traditional,” said Van Rooyen.
