Police arrest pervert

DOUGLASDALE - Police have arrested a suspect for possession of sexually explicit material featuring children

Warrant Officer Balan Muthan, communications officer of the station, said the arrest was the result of a tip-off that the provincial detective service had received.

The suspect was arrested on 15 August in a Jukskei Park complex. Muthan said the suspect, a 45-year-old man, was found in possession of child pornography. “Police officers seized tapes and CDs. They suspect he was manufacturing the pornography.”

Muthan said the suspect had more pornography in his possession that police consider average for private use.

Muthan said the manufacturing and distribution of pornography was often linked to human trafficking.

The suspect was booked at the Douglasdale police station.
