Police recruit officers

LINDEN - Passionate people encouraged to apply for recruit programme at Linden Police.

Linden Police Station spokesperson Constable Carol Ndivhuwo Mulamu says that in order for the police to exist and run efficiently, new officers need to be trained under the supervision of senior officers.

The Linden Police Station is busy recruiting men and woman between the ages of 18 and 30 to join the police force. Lieutenant Colonel Helen Harmse said, “Every station in Gauteng has been tasked to try and recruit people from their respective precincts, as once these trainees are qualified they will be assigned to the stations where they received their training.”

Recruits need to be physically and mentally healthy, have no criminal records, be able to read and write in two official languages – one of which must be English. Applicants also need to have completed Grade 12 and provide their certificate.

“Men need to be within the height restriction of 1.67 metres and women are restricted to 1.6 metres. Both the men and women need to have a body mass Index of less than 30,” she said.

Applicants can meet with Harmse at the station between 7.30am and 3pm to fill in the relevant documentation. The closing date for applications is 31 October and the applicants need to have letters of recommendation from the community.
