On 15 November members of the Honeydew Bowling Club traded bowls for a night on the dance floor.
Texas line dancers Cyril and Mary Anne Shaw demonstrated different dances to the beat of country music, while club members studied their moves. The couple have been line dancing for over 15 years. Cyril said, “If you think you have no rhythm, no balance and two left feet, you are at the right place. Here you just need to enjoy yourself. This is the one dance where your mind does not control your body”.
With beef stew, mashed potatoes, corn on the cob and carrots for dinner, the club members had a lot to work off. Cyril said it was wonderful to see how enthusiastic the members were. “The dance was totally new to them, and even though they did not know all the steps , they said after every song, ‘let’s go again’.”
