A young star in the making
Sarah Falconer may be the next big thing.
Sarah Falconer (13) is an up and coming film and theatre actress with a lot to offer.
Falconer began acting two years ago as a hobby. “Before I received my training in acting I was really shy,” she said. “Getting into the craft has made me feel good about myself. I am a lot more outspoken and confident now.”
Big Bad Musical; Wizard Fu; and Sing It are a few of the theatre productions Falconer has acted in over the years. “Being a part of these productions allowed me to grow as a person and as an actress.”
Falconer’s biggest achievement thus far has been acting in her first movie, Standing Ovation. She plays a character named Violet Boragurd, a stage producer.
“I had a really great time playing the character. Doing a movie was a whole new experience for me, which I enjoyed. It was a challenge, I loved it.”
Although Falconer enjoys film, theatre is her passion. “I recently went to Cape Town to audition for the Sound of Music theatre production. I really hope I get an acting role there so I can combine my love for acting and singing.”
Falconer attends Stageworx Performing Arts School in Honeydew. Acting coach Gemma Donnelly described Falconer as a dedicated actress, a hard worker and a professional artist. Donnelly advises that aspiring actors and actresses should take acting classes as it helps build confidence.
Falconer hopes to feature in more productions and continue writing music.
