Save a child was handed a R80 000 cheque from Ace Packaging on 15 November.
Ferdale-based Ace Packaging handed over a R80 000 cheque to the Save a Child non-profit organisation on 15 November.
The company’s managing director Dean Karff said they plan to keep donating to the organisation in the coming year, and will plan ahead in collaboration with their suppliers to donate as much money as they can to the selected charities, which includes Save a Child.Karff’s personal assistant Rosalin Steenkamp explained that the company approached its suppliers to cycle with its team of 10 cyclists and donate the money made to Save a Child, in solidarity with staff member Jacques Delport, whose child was helped by the organisation.
The other portion of the money raised came from collection tins, which were distributed in local offices and shops.
Vice chairman of Save a Child George Horne said, “We are very pleased and think it is great to have people help us. We really appreciate the help and continuously need the help to run Save a Child. The money will go towards supplying nappies for the children, go towards our feeding scheme, and cover costs for other items we need.”
