Louise Carver visits SPCA

Louise Carver continued to spread her awareness towards the well-being of animals this past weekend.

South African singer Louise Carver visited the Randburg SPCA for a food drive over the festive season.

This was her way to do her part for animals. “I have a philosophy to give my two dogs the absolute best I can, otherwise I should not have them,” she said.

Carver has been involved with animals for years. “When I still lived in Cape Town I had an organisation called Paw Power. I got all my musician friends to contribute and we raised R20 000 for a vet in Khayelitsha. The SPCA is very important to me and I admire what they do.”

Carver said she grew up in a house full of animals in Cape Town. “I know many people who are keen to give but some of them don’t have the time.”

Carver moved to Johannesburg a few years ago and has since adopted two dogs – Fern, a female Yorkie cross and Elvis a male Scottish terrier. “I don’t write any emails without Fern on my lap while I drink my tea. I love animals and to do my bit for them gives me such great pleasure and a feel-good buzz.”
