Stolen truck found

Douglasdale detectives found a missing truck and goods in Kya Sand.

A stolen truck was found on 11 December in Kya Sand by Douglasdale police detectives who had been investigating the whereabouts of the vehicle.

“We received a tip off from residents that there was a suspicious truck on the corner of Elsecar Street and Bernie Street in Kya Sand,” said Detective Constable Rich Motaung. “When we got to the truck we identified it as the stolen truck which had been reported stolen a few days before.'”

According to Motaung the truck driver was driving from Durban to Midrand to deliver hardware, but he never reached his destination. The stolen goods were retrieved later that day at a nearby storage facility.

The Douglasdale police do not know the whereabouts of the truck driver.
