Batting for the older side

Fun family sports day took place at the Randburg sports complex on 7 February.

The Randburg Cricket Club hosted its first tournament of the year where parents played against each other.

The tournament consisted of six energetic teams of parents; the Midlife Crisis: Super Stars, the Royal team, the Orange team: Team Dynamic, the Yellow devils, the Reds and the Green Machines.

“The reason for this tournament is to give parents an idea of what it is like for their children to play the sport, and simply make the people aware of the club,” said executive committee member Emile van Tonder. “We also wanted to get the families involved and make a fun day out of it.”

Van Tonder hoped that through such events the club could bring the community together, and through the sport help the children to learn social skills, and also create opportunities for them to grow within the sport.
