Firearm stolen

An ADT security officer was shot at and his firearm was stolen.

An ADT Security officer was shot at in his company car and had his firearm arm taken from him in Agnes Road, Bloubousrand.

According to Douglasdale police spokesperson, Warrant Office Balan Muthan, the security guard had been patrolling the area,when he received a call to attend to a client. While on his way he was shot at. Although the vehicle was damaged, the security guard was not wounded, but had his firearm forcefully taken from him by a man that shot at him. It was uncertain how many men were involved.

“We have not found any suspects, however the matter is under investigation,” said Muthan.

Muthan added that the Douglasdale police were aware of the incident and will continue to conduct regular patrols. “We also work very closely with the security companies in all our sectors. We hold weekly meetings with them to discuss ways to decrease crime in the area. This is assisting us in fighting crime.”
