Meet the Payne doctors

RANDPARK RIDGE – Sisters to treat plants and humans.

Two sisters living in Randpark Ridge are studying to be doctors.

Stephanie Payne (22) is studying a masters degree in plant science and wants to complete her doctorate in pollination or ecology. Her sister Bronwyn (20) is in her third year of medicine and surgery .

Stephanie always liked plants and wanted to be a florist when she was younger. In her honours year of zoology she conducted research on an endangered aloe which is pollinated through the movements of mice and birds. Here she realised the significance of the interdependence of plants and animals. Her goal is to one day lecture ecology and botany.

Bronwyn had always been fascinated about how the body works. She originally wanted to be a paediatrician, but she is now unsure what she wants to specialise in. However, she is sure that she wants to help people have a good quality of life.
