Suspects wanted for various robberies arrested
LINDEN – Yet another success by Linden police.
Three wanted suspects who have plagued the Linden area and surrounds for months, were finally caught by police in Rooseveldt Park.
It is alleged that the suspects drove around in a black VW Polo GTI terrorising unsuspecting victims and committing various robberies.
“One of the suspects was noticed by police – standing next to the black Polo GTI on Peter Winning Street – while patrolling [the area],” stated Linden police spokesperson, Constable Carol Mulamu.
The officers then approached the suspect and asked what the problem was, and the suspect informed them that he supposedly had a flat tyre.
“While police were inspecting the vehicle, another suspect stormed out of the yard with a crowbar in his possession,”Mulamu continued.
The officers then went back inside the yard to check if there was something wrong, when they found the front door damaged.
“The third suspect was arrested while he was trying to flee. The suspects are aged between 24 and 35, and will appear in court soon.”
Linden Neighbourhood Watch (LNW) chairperson, Fareed Hoosen, said the officers involved should be highly commended for their work. “They did outstanding work in apprehending these suspects, and we’ve been looking for them for a long time.”
