Bridge of division is finished

DELTA PARK – Walkers and cyclists may no longer have to worry about collisions near a blind corner.

Tension between cyclists and walkers in Delta Park may now be abridged.

This is because the 1st Blairgowrie Scout Group recently finished constructing its bridge to separate walkers and cyclists on what is said to be a dangerous corner, allegedly frequented by high-speed collisions (SEE PREVIOUS STORY).

The bridge was finished on 26 July, and crosses a stream to provide an alternate route for walkers as opposed to risking a path around a tight, blind corner between the stream and a fence where cyclists allegedly ride downhill at speed and hit walkers turning the corner.

The only resistance to the bridge raised so far, that by Delta Environmental Centre Resident Manager Geoff Lockwood, is that the creosote used on the wood “has toxicity issues,” and the bridge could have been more effective at another location.
