Homeless people found sleeping in the streets of Linden
LINDEN - Crime operation found homeless people sleeping in the streets.
A crime fighting operation conducted by residents and Linden Neighbourhood Watch (LNW) and ADT found several homeless people on the night of 4 September.
According to Fareed Hoosen of LNW, they found homeless people who come from different African countries such as Malawi,Uganda and Mozambique.
“These operations will continue again as we do every year, into the festive season and New Year. It is always good to let the criminals also know that the community is very active in policing and the safety and security of Linden,” says Hoosen.
Areas that were patrolled include the parks and Emma Koppie, Victory Park and different parts of the Linden area.
They also found a homeless person who previously served a jail sentence, sleeping on the streets.
Hoosen said the homeless people were warned and told to move away from the area.
