Celebrate World Rhino Day

METRO - Do you support Rhinos? Join the world to celebrate World Rhino Day and help to save Rhinos from extinction

The world is on its feet today to celebrate World Rhino Day. This day is dedicated in educating societies about the dangers of poachers.

It is understood that in South Africa, more than 769 rhinos have been killed this year since January and the number keeps swelling.

And more than 3 000 rhinos in South Africa have been thrashed in the past four years.

In an effort to celebrate Rhino Day Journalists at Caxton Joburg North West made a commitment to contribute to the fight against rhino poaching by wearing black to work and to help save Rhinos from extinction.

I am against Rhino Poaching..I believe we should stand up for the rhinos because they are voiceless.” said Belinda Pheto.

“Rhinos are part of the Big Five and this makes it extremely important that we preserve these animals for the next generations.”

People also went to social network Twitter to show their support for Rhino Day.
