Halloween month is here and people are preparing for their scariest time on 31 October from 4pm to 9pm.

The Brightwater Commons has been hosting Halloween event for the past 15 years and this year they are not going to disappoint.

“Brush the Dracula teeth, stock up on the fake blood and prepare for the most spooktacular event in town this Halloween,” says the statement from Brightwater Commons.

As usual, the biggest highlights for this year will be costumes ghosts, witches, pirates, devils and much more.

Really scary looking creatures that catch the eyeballs of the judges will even stand in line to win some great prizes.

The spine-chilling line-up for this year’s Halloween at the Brightwater Commons promises to entertain the whole family.

Together with the fancy-dress competition, trick or treating a visit to the House of Horrors and entertainment from internationally acclaimed illusionist, Ryan Sharp are all on offer.

Trick or Treating will take place from 4pm to 8pm, providing some time to get those baskets filled.

For the younger ones, jumping castles and peddle cars will be open to enjoy near the Sheet Street store throughout.

For the daring and brave, the doors of the House of Horror situated in the Promotions Court will open at 5pm and close at 8pm and entrance is R10.

Fancy-dress judging will take place from 4.30pm to 6pm.

The programme will include the following:

4.30pm – 5pm pre-primary judging

5pm – 5.30pm primary judging

5.30pm – 6pm high school and adults judging

The magic begins just before sunset when Creep Bones Magic Show kicks off at 6pm to 6.30pm.

The fifth annual Toomie Awards will take place from 7pm to 8pm to announce the winners of the fancy-dress competition.

The night line will conclude on a daunting, yet, spectacular note when Ryan Sharp takes centre stage to bring spectators a world-class illusion show.

The public is advised to be aware that during the event the centre does tend to experience parking challenges. Management’s suggestion is for patrons to consider carpooling to ease the congestion on the night and contribute to a positive experience.

Entry fee R40 per car, R20 per pedestrian.
